Tuesday was a bit too frustrating for me. They start out doing their Basics. That didn't take long until I was slightly fuming.... "Go slower! Count louder! If you are going to Instruct than you should be less sloppy and more precise on your movements! (I wanted to shout - thank God I didn't)" Yes, the mommy in me was wanting to take out the 8 year old purple belt. And it only went downhill from there. The rest of the day they pair up with someone with a belt and practice their moves. Xav got a little girl who did NOT want to help him. She set cross legged on her fanny and was full of attitude but no advice. Austin got a Dad (father of Said Girl and the Purple Belt who Instructed today). He was great at showing him forms. I was watching the kids next to them. "I just did 500 Cat Stances" he proudly proclaimed as he kept doing them "Up to 800!" Which got a debate between him and Austin as to who had done more. I couldn't help but pipe up "Yes - but your 800 were sloppy and poor form. Your hand didn't pull back to Attention, your arms weren't poppping" I pointed this out to the Dad.
Yep, this class definitely needs a mommy....
(I caved - today will be my first class)
